Annually, Feeding South Dakota provides 11.7 million meals to hungry individuals across the state.
All proceeds from the concert, gala auction, and truck raffle will support Feeding South Dakota, as well as our scholarship program. We believe in the mission of Feeding South Dakota – and we also believe in promoting beef as a healthy part of a balanced diet. We recognize that the future of the beef industry lies in the youth who have a sincere interest in the industry with our scholarship program.
Our Goal
What is Feeding South Dakota?
Feeding South Dakota provides food assistance to thousands of people in any given week and hundreds of men, women, and children every day. The current food insecurity rate in South Dakota is 8.1%. This means that more than 72,900 South Dakotans are food insecure and may not know where their next meal is coming from.
In the last fiscal year, Feeding South Dakota distributed 11.7 meals to all 66 counties in South Dakota. These meals were provided to families, seniors, and individuals across our great state. One of the most critical needs of Feeding South Dakota is securing protein to distribute to those facing hunger. Funding from the Prime Time Gala helps to ensure that hungry individuals have access to protein, providing them with a healthy diet.

Emerging Breeders Program
This initiative is the foundation for a future; scalable program focused on rebuilding and strengthening the cowherd through youth engagement and genetic investment. The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation would offer a competitive youth grant structured as a sale credit applied at participating breeder sales. Rather than direct cash, grant funds would be used exclusively to purchase females and genetics from breeders who have opted into the program. Those breeders would be the only eligible sources for purchases, creating a closed-loop system that reinvests directly into the industry and its future customers. Participation would include a short educational series, potentially supported by board members, breeders, and industry partners, along with mentorship from the participating breeders themselves.
